John George Bartholomew was a Scottish cartographer best known for his atlases of Scotland, England and Wales, Meteorology, India, and the Holy Land. He was a founding member of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society and held the title of Cartographer to H.M. King George V. Several generations of the Bartholomew family directed the firm between 1826 and 1980, establishing one of the most successful cartographic companies in British history.
