Suren Yeremian

The map was the culmination of decades of research by Suren Yeremian, cited as one of the if not the greatest Armenian historical geographer of the 20th century.
The map bears substantial detail never recorded previously, including ancient districts, the names and sites of important settlements and the sites of major battles. The Kingdom was known for its rivalry with the Assyrian Empire. It was finally conquered by the Persian Medes after centuries of conflict.
This map was originally published in 1960. This edition was issued by the Yerevan University Press in 1980.

eremian was born in 1908 and was made director of the Institute of Material Culture and History in Yerevan in 1953. He died in 1992.
