A colourful vintage postcard advertising Air France's routes to South America using a clever wing motif. Based on a larger poster designed by Lucien Boucher, the leading poster artist of the period and Air France's chief designer for over three decades.
Boucher's superb design shows a stylized map of South America with colourful illustrations of Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires. A white wing, a reference to the wings of the Hippocampus used as an emblem by Air France, mirrors the shape of the continent. A rich blue sea with puffy white clouds surrounds the design to great effect.
