Description:
|
|
Sea chart of the Turks & Caicos islands, as well as part of the southern Bahamas, specifically the Inaguas, Mayaguana, and Crooked Island. The map notes that the Caicos islands had been surveyed in 1753 by order of the French king, which is why soundings are offered for these islands only. Some hazards and reefs are marked elsewhere, but not nearly with the same level of accuracy. The map is embellished with a finely-engraved title cartouche and rhumb lines. [WIND4198] |
