Georgian educational star chart showing the constellation Cassiopeia. The stars are punched through and backed with transparent tissue so that the card could be backlit by a candle. In Greek mythology, Cassiopeia was a queen of Ethiopia who was punished by Poseidon for boasting that she and her daughter, Andromeda, were more beautiful than the Nereids, the sea-nymphs. As punishment, Cassiopeia and her daughter was trapped in the sky as constellations.
