Charming pictorial map of the world drawn on a faux antique style advertising French air routes, probably for Air France although they are not mentioned.
A scroll on the lower left pays homage to Augustin-Jean Fresnel, the inventor of stepped glass, used as a dome on lighthouses. This had the effect of projecting light for a far further distance. A series of black and white stars marked on the map shows the positions of lighthouses at sea for ships and newly created "inland lighthouses" or navigation towers used for aerial routes.
