An uncommon and splendid folding wall map of the world set within a collection of infographic diagrams. These include an illustration of the longest rivers and highest mountains of the world, a list of famous battles, and a chart of important historical figures (109 men and 17 women). The latter has been updated to reflect the recent deaths of Florence Nightingale and King Edward VII in 1910, giving us our approximate publication date. A semi-circle of national flags, a compendium of the "world's loftiest & most famous buildings", and a gathering of national costumes provide additional decorative elements. Paragraphs of text explain the Solar System and the plants, the concept of time, the history of transport, and the major ethnic groups (according to the prejudices and societal norms of Edwardian Britain).
This spectacular wall chart is rare on the market, especially in good condition and with colours as vibrant as this. It has recently been laid down on archival linen for preservation.
