Beautiful example of Rossi's map of Tuscany and the Papal States.
Unlike many of Rossi's maps of Italy, which are based on Magini's regional atlas, this map is based on the information compiled by the noted French map maker, theologian and mathematician, Michel Baudrand. It is not known why Rossi chose to use this map.
