Grand, separately issued folding wall map of New York City and County extending from the Battery to the borders of Yonkers City. 

This large wall map of New York is oriented to show The Battery to the left of the sheet extending to the southern border of Yonkers on the right. There is also a little detail in the western edge of Long Island, together with Brooklyn, New Jersey and Hoboken. The main focus though is Manhattan.

It is a lithograph is comes late in the body or work produced by the Colton firm. The imprint mentions the publishing date of 1885 along with the names of Charles B. and George Woolworth Colton, omitting the name of the patriarch, Joseph Hutchins Colton.

Although this map is represented in a few institutions, it is rare on the open market.

There is slight toning in a small area on the centre of the map, as well as another small area on the left. Due to its original linen backing, it is in remarkably good condition for its size.
