This map encompasses the vast region of modern Central and Eastern Asia, Siberia and northern China. Although based on Sanson's earlier folio map of 1654. Although the map looks relatively full, most of the detail is based on information that is out date. On his folio map, Sanson cites Arabian sources but does not specify which. The map differs markedly from its Dutch contemporaries and was widely used by later map makers.
