Interesting map of the east and mid-west States of the USA during their early exploration and establishment.
Of particular note is the as yet undefined northern border of the "Province of Main" and the as yet undivided country entitled "Western Territory" which has not been divided into States or Territories but which does show the claims of several Land Companies which officially and in several cases unofficially possessed vast tracts of western lands. These include the New Jersey Company, the Wabash Company and the Ohio Company among several others.
