Early 20th-century tellurian manufacture by the Trippensee Planetarium Co., Detroit. Tellurians such as this one were manufactured for educational use to illustrate the movements of the Earth, the Moon, the Sun, and Venus. The Sun and base are made from polished brass. The miniature 3-inch globe was manufactured by Rand McNally in Chicago. The base is marked with the seasons, months and zodiac signs. In perfect working order. 15 inches tall. [GLOBE167]
