Confiance... Ses Amputations Se Poursuivent Methodiquement
A vivid WWII propaganda poster published by the German Army in Occupied France to stoke anti-British sentiment. A hideous octopus with Winston Churchill's face grasps at Europe, French colonies in Africa, and the Middle East. Each of the named locations marks a German or Vichy French victory against the British and each is represented by a severed limb of the octopus. The poster's title roughly translates to "Have faith... the amputations are proceeding methodically."
Backed with archival linen. Reduced-size poster. Printed colour. [SL]
