Stylish vintage 12 inch terrestrial globe on an early Art Deco-style airplane base, with ruled half meridian. The globe highlights early aviation achievements around the world. These include Charles Lindbergh's flight across the Atlantic (May 1927) in the "Spirit of St. Louis", the flight of the Hindenburg (May, 1936), and the Graf-Zeppelin's 1929 route around the world, beginning and ending at Lakehurst Naval Air Station, New Jersey. The inaugural route of Pan-Am's China Clipper flying boat from Alameda, California to Manila in 1935 is also noted.

Another interesting feature on the globe for early aviation enthusiasts is the inclusion of short-wave radio station codes for many cities around the world.

Though the globe is undated, several border changes give us the approximate date of 1936. Japan has seized Manchuria and renamed it Manchuokuo (post-1932), Iran is marked as Persia (Iran) on the globe (post-1935), and Burma (now Myanmar) is still shown as part of India (pre-1937).
