An eye-catching 2-inch pocket globe by the prestigious London firm of J. & W. Newton. This is the smallest globe produced by the firm. The inside of the shark-skin case is decorated with diagrams illustrating the phases of the Moon and the seasons in place of the more traditional celestial map. Captain Cook's three voyages are noted, as are the latest discoveries in Australia according to Matthew Flinders and Louis de Freycinet. Bright original hand colour. [GLOBE439]
