Inde Partie Meridionale de la Presqu'isle en deca du Gange
Late 18th-century map of southern India and Sri Lanka, extending north to Surat and Kolkata. This map was originally published to show the state of Indian politics during the Anglo-Mysore Wars. The map would have been coloured according to the key above the title on the right to define the territories of Britain, Britain's allies, neutral nations, the Marathas, and Tipu Sultan's Kingdom of Mysore. This example does not use this colour scheme, instead choosing to line all political boundaries in yellow.
