Attractive map of the Caribbean showing the perceived routes of the four voyages of Christopher Columbus.
The map focuses mainly on the West Indies east of the Yucatan Peninsula and its main feature are the four great voyages of Christopher Columbus between 1492-1504. The routes, although somewhat conjectural, are accurate due to the diaries kept by the expeditions, particularly the later ones.
The first landing of Columbus in the New World is disputed but on this map, it follows orthodoxy and shows it at the Bahamian Island of St. Salvador, also known as Watlings Island in October of 1492. The map also shows the following voyages up to the year 1504 which was the end of the fourth and final voyage. Original colour. [WIND4333]
