A late-Victorian, folding map of the City of London with important public buildings noted in brown, and with the parish boundaries marked using thin red lines. Railways and Underground lines are also included. The map extends from Somerset House and Lincoln's Inn Fields in the west to the Tower of London and Shoreditch High Street in the east.
This map was drawn and engraved by John Bartholomew, the Scottish geographer, engraver, and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society on behalf of W.H. Smith & Son. It is their sales label which appears on the front cover of the map's booklet.
